Some possible FAQ's for the Hustle Festival:
HOW DO I ACCESS THE VIRTUAL CLASSES AND EVENING VIEW SESSIONS:
This will be through the use of Zoom and / or streamed to a closed Facebook Group. You will require internet access and ideally a device no smaller than an iPad but it would be an idea to get linked up to a larger screen and consider the use of a speaker to enhance sound. You will receive an email with a link and some basic instructions prior to signing up. At least 24 hours before the Festival you will be sent an invitation with instructions via email. There is also a link to a short video tutorial and information at the class booking link to help you get started. This information is also at the bottom of this page. It may be worth having a little practice before you get started for the first class.
CAN MORE THAN ONE PERSON IN MY HOUSE TAKE PART FROM MY HOUSEHOLD?
Yes – everyone can take part as long as they are in front of the same screen
CAN I PICK AND CHOOSE THE SESSIONS I ATTEND?
Yes, attend as many or as little as you wish throughout the day
I AM NOT UK TIMEZONE OR I AM WORKING SO WILL MISS SOME SESSIONS - CAN I JUST ATTEND A FEW?
Unfortunately, the times can't suit everyone. However, we are aiming (but just can't promise it will be guaranteed incase of tech issues or quality) to video some sessions for a few days after the event and share with those who could not attend but have signed up to the full event. You can still attend as much or as little as you wish and please remember virtual classes are still on during the week with funded places both for this event and weekly classes.
I HAVE NOT RECEIVED AN EMAIL INVITATION FOR THE CLASS:
If you do not have email inviting you to the class within 24 hours before the Festival please check your spam mail. If you find it there it is important it is marked as not spam to help our other emails arrive into your inbox next time. Please check that your email was correctly input at the time of order or setting up the account. Incase of error please get in touch at admin@highlandhustle.com
*Please note that emails around 1 – 2 hours prior to the Festival may not be checked in time.
DO I HAVE TO HAVE MY VIDEO ON SO I AM SEEN BY OTHERS?
It will improve the feeling of a being with others as well as the interaction for all and joining a group of people if your camera is on and to allow safe corrections (which will be kept general like a normal class) our recommendation is to keep the camera on. However, this is not a requirement to have the camera on to join the class. Please remember to warn anybody else in the house that your camera is on though!
With that said, we all understand if children are walking around whilst you work out for example!
CAN EVERYONE IN THE CLASS HEAR ME?
No, your microphone will be muted so no noise from your home will be heard. There may be times where you are invited to speak or interact but you will be made aware of this before your mic is switched on.
CAN YOU GUARANTEE THAT THE QUALITY OF THE VIEWING EXPERIENCE?
This is something totally different for us from normal timesand due to factors out with our control such as bandwidth and use at that time the experience may vary. However, Highland Hustle has made investment in new tech and has had work done to provide as high an experience as possible from this side! It may also vary from class to class in your home. We are doing everything possible to make it a good quality experience. If you have any ideas to help with this we’d love to hear them!
CAN I USE ROUTINES IN FUTURE/ RECORD CLASS?
No. Please do respect Highland Hustle copyright and the work that has gone into creating the concept and content. Thank you.
IS THE FESTIVAL FEE REFUNDABLE?
Normally, no. If you are ill between booking the class and it going ahead with suspected COVID 19 we will of course under these exceptional illness refund fees. Otherwise, if you cannot attend you can swap your place to another household as long as the information is emailed by 18th June to admin@highlandhustle.com with the details of the main email to be used in place of your own.
I AM A HIGHLAND DANCER ... CAN I TAKE PART?
If you are a current Highland Dancer please just check (out of respect for your teacher) that they are ok with you joining in. No technique corrections for Highland dance are provided. However, perhaps you wish to join in with your household or just for fitness and fun. All parents should be aware that they are responsible for their own dancers safety online and should be aware that not all cameras will be switched on. Links to classes will be private and only provided to those who sign up to the event
WILL THE EVENT BE RECORDED?
Some of the event will be recorded with the aim of sharing sessions for a short period with those who cannot make it live (perhaps in a different time zone etc). However, the video is aimed to focus on the Instruction most of the time. We cannot guarantee that video will be of sufficient quality to share but this will be the aim! Some content may be made available on the Community Members site for periods of time in the future.
