Highland Dance Choreography!

Here at Highland Hustle we think Highland Dance is just beautiful to watch.  It is what our classes are based on after all!

At the Highland Hustle Conference 2019 we were lucky enough to have a stunning performance of Highland choreography.  If you have not been to a class before … don’t worry, they are nothing quite as fast or complicated as this!

Charlene is a Highland Hustle Instructor and one of our Highland Hustle Hero’s  (a bit like our version of an Ambassador) and teaches in the West Lothian area.  This gorgeous performance was first performed when Charlene picked up the ‘Oscar Award’.  This is the Highland Dance world’s award for the most Championships won in the UK by the RSOBHD in one of the three age groups.  Charlene won it a prestigious three times in total in her dance career!

If you do admire the choreography why not pop over to our  Community Members area as this is one of our current expert challenges to learn a tiny snippet of the dance.  Learn it bit bit to music along with Founder Gillian and Charlene to music.  There is even a low and medium impact version offered if you don’t feel up to jumping!

A huge thank you to Elizabeth Gollan of the Paterson School in Edinburgh who originally choreographed the routine.  Charlene trained under the dance school throughout her competitive career.

Well done and thank you once again to Charlene too who is once again wearing the original outfit she performed in all these years ago …. even after the birth of her two children!

You can find Charlene's Highland Hustle class as well as all the others across the world at the find a class page.

Note:  Challenges will change in the Community Members site area from time to time with new additions and challenges being offered.   Charlene's challenge is currently available to learn in November 2019 but may be offered again in future.  There will be other challenges if you are reading this at a later date of a similar standard / difficulty level as well as beginner challenges to upskill.
